The Kihei condo market continues to be one of the most interesting in Maui and within it, there are a multiple anomalies, one is Kihei Akahi, which has proven to be one of the strongest micro-markets in Kihei real estate. Let's take a look at how Kihei Akahi is doing currently. 

Active Listings

Currently there are five listings on the market, all of which are in D building: 

D-315 - Very desirable two-bedroom corner unit. Upgraded condition, outstanding view corridors, offered for $655K.
D-314 - One bedroom unit. Big ocean views, list price $479K.
D-613 - Penthouse level one bedroom unit with panoramic view corridors, list price $489K.

Question: I'm interested in buying a condo in Kihei but looking for either USDA or FHA financing because of the lower down payment, but I don't have see a lot of options. Is Kihei Villages approved?

Maui FHA Loans

Answer:  Perfect timing. Kihei Villages was recently approved for FHA Financing, effective as of September 11, 2018. Backed by the Federal Housing Administration, the FHA loan program is a popular one, particularly among first-time home buyers. This is great news for both Buyers, as now this property is an option in a Kihei condo market that lacks other FHA options, and for Sellers, who now theoretically have a larger pool of prospective purchasers. As the summer comes to an end, let's take a look at the state of the market at one of our favorite properties, Honua Kai. 

New Listings

The month of August saw two new listings come on the market:

Konea 638 - This one bedroom / one bathroom is on the northern outside perimeter of the Konea tower. With a 6th floor location, there is enough elevation to guaranteed privacy and ocean view corridors, while being near the wing elevator provides convenience in accessing the ground-level amenities.
