Maui Real Estate Top 5 Sales 2015

As the 2016 begins to unfold, let us take a look at the most significant sales in the Maui real estate market during the 2015 year.  So with that, we count down the top 5 sales:

* 4446 Makena Alanui Road- Much was speculated and written regarding the record-shattering sale of 4446 Makena Alanui Road in the exclusive Keauhou at Makena subdivision, which consists of only 7 homes on 23 acres of the most sought-after real estate on Maui. The unlisted, private sale of this property recorded for $41.775M, which is leaps and bounds above the previous high mark on Maui of $27M. Not much is known about this property, but from what we saw of it while being built, it is one of the most impressive, sprawling estates in all of Maui.

* 3070 South Kihei Road - Keawakapu Homes are known for fronting what is arguably THE best beach on Maui. Homes range from old Hawaiiana-style cottage to large estate compounds. The large 5,600+ square foot home sold for 14.5M.

* 355 Haiku Road - Formerly known as the Baldwin Estate, this property is the epitome of pure Hawaiian plantation architecture. Forty acres of impeccably maintained land set the stage for one of the most breathtaking homes, enjoying expansive ocean view corridors, a tropical retreat-like setting. 

* Wailea Beach Villa A-202 - Although the Montage Residences Kapalua Bay has posted some magnificent sales numbers, specially for their premiere units, for now Wailea Beach Villas remain as the king of the Maui luxury condo market. Directly front-row and arguably THE best unit in the property, A-202 sold for $8.5M.

* 3214 South Kihei Road - When the 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom 1,356 square foot home built in 1959 sold for $7.7M, it was clear that the value was in the land. Beachfront properties on Keawakapu have been and will continue to be one of the most coveted in all of Hawaii. 

 It is worth noting that of the 5 top sales, 4 of them were in South Maui with the remaining sale taking place on the North Shore. Other notable significant sales include 16 Maluakai Lane in the prestigious Maluhia at Wailea subdivision, the luxury estate closed for $6.9M marking a great value for the new owners.

** Note: The above post only includes residential and condominium sales, NOT vacant land. This is particularly of emphasis as in 2015 various parcels sold in Makena's Maluaka, with 4 sales closing at or above $9M. This is a great sign of the enthusiasm being shown in Makena real estate, albeit it was all concentrated in vacant land.**
